Her areas of interest are organizational communication, leadership, and organizational discourse analysis. Her past research has centered on sensemaking during times of organizational change, downsizing, organizational culture, leader- member relationships, cross- cultural management, executive coaching, and male and female communication styles. She is a Fellow of the International Communication Association and a National Communication Association Distinguished Scholar.
